interesting article, but I'd like to have seen how long the study went for - our ancestors sure as heck never got meat with every meal, but they must have gotten some at one point or another...
great read!

It is really true that vegetarian diet slims down a rather chubby and fat person. Eating lots of vegetables and less meat promotes good health. Also, one needs to eat less rice, too, as rice tends to add weight. So for those of you here who are determined to reduce their weight -- it is not yet late to become a vegetarian... for beauty and for healthy living...

That's a very good point - going veggie does have a huge number of health benefits and thinking about where your food comes from generally rules out a lot of junk food too.
My main concern with being veggie is that you can really miss out on things like iron and it seems to invalidate your lifestyle choices if you end on up iron supplements as a result.

I know plenty of veggies who are overweight..diets do matter, and veggies tend to eat more healthily but it all depends on how much you eat really.

I think it depends a great deal on the veg diet. I've had chubby veg flatmates who lived on nuts and peanut butter.

If there is lots of cheese, p-nut butter, nuts in the diet there is a tendency to gain weight for a lot of people.
